  • Denaturation

    A change in the structure of a protein, decreasing its functionality. This structural change is caused by heat, alcohol, acids, bases, detergents, heavy metal salts or by particular chemical compounds.

  • Dermatitis

    Inflammation of the skin, caused by the direct contact with an irritant or by allergic reaction. Typical symptoms of dermatitis are reddening, itching and, in some cases, the appearance of blisters.

    Relating to digestion. Digestion is the mechanical and chemical breakdown of food into smaller components that are more easily absorbed into the body.
