If your child has been experiencing allergic symptoms in the past, let his or her condition take time to improve like you would a healing cut. Studies have shown that within 3 days on Neocate there will be an improvement of eczema and a disappearance of other symptoms (e.g. vomiting, diarrhoea). Another study shows that within 14 days on Neocate there will be a resolution of CMA-related gastrointestinal symptoms. Even when your baby’s symptoms have disappeared, keep on feeding Neocate as long as recommended by your child’s doctor to prevent symptoms starting all over again.
Consult your doctor or dietitian on how long your child should stay on Neocate. If your child has been on solids, it is important to make sure that those foods suspected of causing a problem are completely eliminated from the diet. Use only those foods recommended by your child’s doctor or dietitian.
